Made some good pizza yesterday using the 14" Lodge cast iron pizza I got for Christmas on the BGE. I am very impressed with the pizza pan fits perfect and work great.

I let the pan heat up. had the egg cranking at about 600 F. The pan is sitting on the platesetter with the feet facing down. I need to get a spacer in between the platesetter and the pan.

Cooked. We have about 14" of new snow up here in NH. Fun to cook outside in the snow.

I love my Lodge pizza pan as well. I've used it to cook pizza in my 22.5 kettle many times.

Love my CI pizza pan, to me it cooks better than a stone.

I went back and forth between a stone and the pan. I've had stones crack when the temps get over 700F on my gas grill. Could have been the heat difference with the direct flame.
I've very happy with the pan.

Do you notice a difference in the crust when you cook a pizza with the cast iron as opposed to the stone?

a heat deflector between either a stone or baking dish is ESSENTIAL! I used to do my pizzas raised high up in the dome and could never figure out why I was burning the crap out of the crust. Put the platesetter in, and i've never looked back, still use the grid extender to get it a little higher up, but it works great! Great looking pie!

Mmmm, Hawaiian pizza. Looks delicious. I bought a bunch of mozza cheese for some pizzas later in the week. Haven't made a Hawaiian in aaaaages, I might just do it if I happen out to the store for some pineapple before I make them.

The crust was perfect. All I did was brush off a bit of the cornmeal that had burned and set the next one down. Just make sure the pan is good and hot before you start.

Does lodge make a bigger cast iron pizza pan? Around the 16" range?

That is the pan I use on my kettle. Love pizza on that thing. Put it on cold for a perfect bottom crust.
