What membrane?

I'm a huge believer in removing the membrane off the back of ribs. It's simple, only requires a butter knife, a paper towel, and a bit of elbow grease.

I think you'll find the tenderness of your ribs will improve significantly if you give this a shot.

So I'm guessing you are saying it is not there?

Looks like it's already removed. I'm seeing this a lot lately.

I pull it off after the cook it's much easier and it keep s you bones moister. That rack already has it removed.

May be already off - however have used a spoon to gently scrape off the thicker white fat (upper portion shown) above in your original picture.

Sometimes you'll find some without membrane...

Missing in action, I have found that a lot lately, especially ribs from Sams.

Yep - it's gone.

If the membrane were still on, it would look like a thin, milky "skin" that you could get under with a knife, and lift. Looks like you got ribs already de-membraned.

Seems like some of you were confused. I was asking if the membrane was on or off this rack of ribs. It was a quick post, looking for a quick reply.

These ribs were from Prairie Farms but purchased from Piggly Wiggly. Are more and more places taking the membrane off of ribs now?

The membrane is off. Lately all my ribs come like this..........really helps when I'm preparing them and had a few  You're good to go
