i cured 6 pounds of bacon using the cowgirl and thirdeye cure recipes. Today i smoked them both with some cherry. I used the solder pen in a can method. I smoked the bacon for about 7 hours. The method worked but definitely wasn't as "set and forget" as the other method using smoking pellets and some expanded metal. here's the method using smoke pellets:

the chips caught fire several times and i had to constantly put more chips on using todays method. Luckily, the bacon did turn out great and my buddy and i got lots of work done on the UDS.
"bacon.....it's what for dinner" :thumb:
By the way, that finger belongs to my wife :)
