View Full Version : Beef Short Rib suggestions???

I have some beef short ribs on the menu today, and am looking for something more then just smoking them.. .maybe smoke for a while, then toss into a braise? Any suggestions?
And yes, I just saw Phrasty's stewed pork shanks.... WOW!!!

If you havent tried this yet you should, mix the marinade with some pineapple juice to help tenderize the ribs.

I put on a rub smoked and sauced They were awesome I like these suggestions Do you have the time for them

I have been looking at a bunch of recipes... love them just smoked, but wanted something a little different.
I think what I am going to do is fire up the Egg and start them out there do help render out some of the fat...
Then maybe a red wine braise...

Although this looks good too... just not time for the marinade at this point... perhaps just cook them in that marinade...

Just don't cook it too fast. They tend to be tough otherwise. Did you get choice? If select, think of how you can keep moisture content while low and slowing. Then at the end, you can crank up and sear.

Here's my experience with it: started out a little dissapointing, then I made some adjustments the next day
