I have been getting some bb's from RD and all of them seem to have an extra bone on one end. Its kinda like a butterfly shape, I know it doesnt affect the taste but it sure does make problems cutting clean looking ribs. Does anyone else know of this bone and how do I get rid of it without making a mess. Do you cut it off before or after cooking, just looking for some helpfull insight

I've had that bone when I did my spares and had problems when trying to cut it down to a st louis style. It was a pain in the arse to cut thru but I was able to after putting some muscle into it. I've only ran across this maybe 2 times since doing ribs and I think it might have to do with where I buy my ribs. I cut it out while trimming and before cooking.

Before cooking is the best, neater and the cut will be cleaner.
