Lots of places online. Is there one better than others?

Buy rubs/marinades?:noidea:
I have had a smoker since June and I make my own. Super easy and once you get a rub you like you can tweak it to your liking. I got a rub I like and looked at the ingredients then did a search and found something similar. I then adjusted it to my liking. I buy my spices in bulk and it is way cheaper than buying a rub.

I make my own but can highly recommend a few brethren's stores, Great Lakes BBQ (http://www.greatlakesbbqsupply.com/), 5-0 bbq (http://www.bbqequipmentstore.com/main.sc) and Dixie meat rub (http://www.thebestmeatrub.com/index.html) The first to sell a variety of rubs, and Dixie meat is a new and making a pretty solid rub

I usually look up a recipe and try it. But I recently tried Tatonka Dust on a cured pork chop that I smoked and it was excellent. I'd sure buy that if it was available commercially. Right now I think the maker is still testing and developing it.

Depending on how much your Q, I think both trying other folks rubs and working on your own is worthwhile. There a half a dozen rubs I've seen folks talk about here that I really want to try in the future, even though I still want to make some of my own.

^^^ +1

Online spices (I make my own more often than not) and
Penderey's or Mild Bills. Penzey's too, but not as often as
the others.

Then, Bass Pro Shops for Plowboy's, etc.

I make my own. I found a few recipes online, and messed with them for several months until I figured out what worked for me. Now, I make about two pounds of it at a time so I usually have some handy.

I used to buy Plowboy's rub in 5lb bags and was very satisfied with the product. Over the past years I have noticed (in my personal opinion) either they have increased the salt content, changed the way they measure, or have changed the type of salt used, either way something has changed and I have given up on that brand for my personal likes. I don't want to purchase an expensive rub I have to fix to my likes before I use it

I have gone to Butch's Magic Dust Rub in 5lb packages.
Butch's Magic Dust (http://bbqbutch.ameriwealthweb.com/?page_id=101#ecwid:category=468349&mode=category&offset=0&sort=normal)

You have to e-mail for the price of 5lb bags...

Part of the fun of it for me is making my own. Plus, it's usually a lot cheaper.

When I buy, I buy exclusively from Brethren businesses. I try to spread my orders around.

There are so many Brethren who I buy from, but lately I have ordered mostly from Big Poppa Smokers (member here) because of their awesome selection (they sell most of the Brethrens sauces and rubs), great service, and free/fast shipping over $39 which is so easy to do on their site.

Borrowed South Shall Rise Again Rub from old Texas Monthly article. Also, buy Fiesta seasonings from HEB or Acadamy when I am in Texas. Want to try some Plowboys Yardbird sometime.

As much as I'd love to be the guy that varies my rubs/seasoning/sauces... I just don't roll like that.

http://www.headcountry.com/catalog

I use the Championship Seasoning on everything I put in my Weber... even steaks.

They don't have Fiesta in Colorado? Seems if they had them in Tennessee...

i absolutely love the simply marvelous sweet and spicy and would definitely suggest you get some. though for me it was SIGNIFICANTLY CHEAPER shipping when ordering from bigpoppasmokers.com instead of the simply marvelous site. this is not a knock on simply marvelous though, i'm all the way in virginia, you're results may vary

The whole fiesta line of spices is available online direct from the mfg. fiestaspices.com.

In a pinch, McCormic's Grillmates is pretty good. I like their reduced sodium versions of Montreal steak and chicken.

All the vendors in the "Brethren Ventures" section here have great products and service. Some of them offer low sodium products if you're into that.

Great Lakes, Simply Marvelous. I get my sauces from a friend who travels to Old Carolina and picks them up. Old Carolina Screamin' Beaver Rocks!!

I made the horrifying discovery that I am almost out of SM Cherry - so put the call out to a couple friends to see if they need anything and will be putting in an order toot-sweet.

Don't forget BigButz (a Brethren) for awesome sauces and pretty good rubs.

The Commercial rubs I use are all made by Brethren and bought through Brethren. I consider Spydermike72 and BBQBubba to be personal friends and order mostly through them (Great Lakes BBQ Supply). Great guys and great service.
