Usd won't go above 255 all valves open. Any ideas? About ten lb charcoal lit minion method. Top vent 2 1/2 bung.

do you have a 4-6" stack on it? if not think about doing that. It will increase your draw and cause the temps to rise....

No stack I will try that. What is best to use? Something that will screw into the bung?

How big are your intakes? How much lit goes on the 10#? How accurate is your thermo? Some more info is needed for us to help you:thumb:

Try these images. I used a piece of grey PVC pipe and a cap to keep rain out and to snuff the fire when done using...

Is that US dollar < or = to 255 Canadian?

What is the diameter of your basket and how tall a riser for the basket (legs)?

I guess I jumped the gun it's up to 300 now but it took like 30 minutes. It rose to 255 and just sat at that temp came inside for a few went back out it was 300. Guess I got a lot to learn thanks guys

yes, you are right. it will take a little while for you to see changes in temp from adjustments. Make small adjustments and wait for a reaction it will be slow to rise and slow to fall..it can take as much as 30 minutes to get up to complete operating temps. A stack will make it a little more quick to react because of the increased draw and it will also enable slightly higher temps like about 375&#176; if neccessary... Good luck...
