this is the first time i ever cooked ribs without starting in the oven (ducks head) .. ive only had a smoker a couple months and i havent taken time to make ribs ..

caught some for $1.49/lb untrimmed spares couple days ago and went for it this morning! (i will be goin back to buy more after posting this! ) ...

300-325 for just udner 4 hours til passed the toothpick/bend test .. simple rub salt, pepper, garlic and onion powder, lil cayenne, lil cumin ..

cooked some of the riblets same amount of time (smaller ones pulled off and snacked on after 2 or so hours along with skirt trimmings) ..

one rack got Stubbs honey pecan, other got trader joes all natural kansas city style (wife and I avoid HFCS).. id love to try some new sauces but kinda have to go with what i can find locally

what do ya think ??? :twitch:

as cooked .. pre sauce .. thought this looked good especially considering no sugar or anything in rub ...

I'm a fan of the style of rub you used. Little to no sugar, and lots of good flavor.

Ribs look great.

Those look good, nicely done for a first rib cook. Did you try one without sauce?
