So, yesterday I reached out to see if anyone had heard of this color Weber kettle. I couldn't find a way to edit the thread title to show I had updated with pics, so I started this one; sorry. Here's the original thread http://www.bbq-brethren.com/forum/showthread.php?t=141615

Here's the pics, the color is in between the lightest and darkest pics; it was hard to capture. It also is fairly iridescent. I guess the guy did a warranty claim and this is what Weber sent him. They said they were sending "Dark Blue", and this showed up. It still hasn't been used and I am trying to talk him out of it (the grill that is), we'll see. What say ye Brethren? Ever seen a kettle this color?

Looks like a paint mistake they sent for warranty replacement rather that scrap it.

All it needs is a good wash!

AU date code shows that it is 2012 production run. Looks similar to the color that Home depot is selling down here.

Looks like regular blue that we've seen before.

I have a regular blue. Like the ones in swamps posts. It is definitely not that color. Has a very "soft purplish" hue to it. It's very close to the last pic. It must be a newer offering because I have/ and have seen a ton of Webers and am unfamiliar with this one.

They all cook the same, except for the REDS, which have superpowers!

Although, it could be a brand new blue color.

I was gonna give you my thoughts on this matter, but you used the word periwinkle on a BBQ forum, so now I won't.

I have 6 kids and another on the way, I'm comfortable enough in my manhood to say periwinkle, even owning it if it works out lol! Your thoughts please Sensei?

Your thoughts please Sensei?

Pretty much looks blue to me.

From your pics, sometimes it looks like a regular Weber blue, other pics it does appear to be different.

I don't know.

Their are at least two shades of Weber blue.

Three, either by design or defect. I have the two in your pic, and am fixing to have the third. I agree, it's hard to tell in the pics but it's WAY different than the 2 standard blues. Clark, are you comfortable with having a periwinkle kettle come visit you next time I go to Pardeeville or does Wyocena have ordinances against those?

Webers are not like those freaking Thermapens and their colors and whatever! All Kettles are kick arse, no matter their color!!

But, I'm just a bit partial to the Original Kettle color..........

Not at all, as long as the girlish periwinkle Weber won't be intimidated when surrounded by 20+ black Webers.

it looks like the normal blue to me.

if it's different in person, it's likely just a flaw in the finish or color mixing.
probably a one-of-a-kind - not a new color.

Its been very rare that side x side any of the older colored kettles that have passed through my hands have been a perfect color match.

just sayin'

Wow you guys are HILARIOUS! I'm not colorblind or confused. This thing is WAY farking different than a slightly off shade of the regular blues. If Weber doesn't have a new color out, it is a WAY crazy paint blend. I need to get a decent pic with something besides my phone. DAY-UM SWAMP, that's a heckuva collection! Can I borrow a few (dozen)?!?!?
