That is very interesting and looks good.

I like sweet corn on the cob, and I'd love to try new methods of cooking it.

How did you smoke them (temp, time)?
Did you cook them in the husks or open (as in your pic)?
Did you soak them before cooking?

Details, give us details!

I pulled the outter dry husk off, pulled back and removed the silks, soaked for 15 to 20 minutes, put in the smoker around 225 for around 2 to 3 hours.

Looks great. I tossed a few ears on the smoker while finishing some ribs the other day. Yumm, so good!

I get nervous about this long of a cook drying out the ears. I assume that is not the case? We grill ours until the husk is charred, about 30-40 minutes and have great corn. Low and slow versus fast and hot might be at play here. Do you get a nice smoke flavor doing it your way?

Will a brine enter the skin of the kernels and make corn juicy like it does meat?

Gonna have to test it out!

I bake my sweetcorn in my oven at 350 degrees. I do it for 45 minutes, Alton Brown says 30 minutes will do just fine.
Couple years ago I did about 4 dozen ears in my Klose mobile pit. I let them go for about 2 hrs at 250 degrees. The ears were removed from the beer fridge and place on the racks, silk, husk and all. No soaking ever. Turned out awesome.

Did 2 ears tonite in the electric oven for 45 minutes and they turned out excellent.
