Reverse sear on the WGA ('sup Phu!) over B&B Oak Lump. I ate half tonight and I'm looking forward to a killer lunch tomorrow.

I forgot to mention that I sweated it with SM Season All and then with SM Peppered Cow. I usually stay with S&P for beef in general and steaks in particular, but I'm glad I switched it up tonight. :thumb:

Thanks y'all!

And Al - once the mindset is changed, the challenge kinda goes away. I was perfectly happy with 1/2, didn't feel like I was denying myself anything, AND I get to hit it again tomorrow :clap2: and who doesn't like to hit it again the next day?

Great looking ribeye, cooked to perfection! Hope you had some bread to soak up all those juices.

Where did you pick up that specimen?

Ain't eating much bread these days, but I might have to make a sammich with what's left tomorrow.

Got it at Victor's Meats and Delicatessen here in CC. Pretty decent butcher - not a huge selection, kinda down 'n dirty, but they do get some good stuff and are very close by. :thumb:

I'm jealous. Make sure you eat the big gobs of fat on it too . . . that's where all the vitamins are. And gnaw the bone until the dog starts complaining.

Beautiful steak there friend!

I find myself in the same situation now. Plate the steak with some grilled veggies etc...and I can only eat about half these days. "Course, I generally cut 20 OZ steaks from the cryovac, but what the heck. Day two, Redhot and I have steak sammies! Some provalon, horseradish and sauteed onions on a roll...

So I had the rest on a sammich for lunch. I'm off work today, so I've been blasting Deep Purple while prepping/eating lunch.

Sliced it up, laid it on some Country White, along with a little mayo, grainy mustard, and All Spice Cafe chipotle garlic sauce.

A little Malden sea salt and cracked black pepper (added after I took the pic), along with a slice of an heirloom tomato from the garden, a piece of red leaf lettuce (our lettuce has all bolted and is bitter, so I got this lettuce at the store), some tortilla chips (a rare treat for me these days) and a non-alcoholic brew, which ensures yet another day of behavior that falls within generally agreed upon standards. :thumb:

Very farking enjoyable. :thumb:

I bought three bone in ribeyes yesterday on sale for $7.98/lb. I ate one right away an will eat a second one tonight. 2-2-2 on a BGE at around 630 degrees is a perfect medium for these steaks.

Great looking ribeye!

Started my diet last week, and it's been going very well. But ribeye is my achilles heel. I don't think I could only eat half. Maybe if I cut off half & stuck it in the freezer before cooking, but once it's on a plate in front of me, there's no turning back! Your willpower is insipiring & commendable! :thumb:

Looks fantasmic. I'm with the others; I can't stop eating them. I eat the large cubes of fat (the meat flavors it), gnaw the bone until the dog whines; it's a feeding frenzy.

That's why I've never tried a rib-roast. It's just a slab of rib-eyes begging to be eaten. I think it'd be gone before guests arrived.

. . . Or the A-1 would <hides>

The rib-eye looks great. Need to do 1 this weekend.

And +1 to Mauricio. I can't save it for the next day either. Gotta finish it up right then and there or invite more people to come finish it up with me :laugh::laugh:
