Hi guys love the forum, I have been reading for a while, but this is the first post, thanks in advance for the help!

I am the proud new owner of a Cyber Q, and it's doing a great job, I love it! I am having a small problem I hope you can help resolve. I have no issues in Adhoc mode. I can connect to a web page in infrastructure mode from a computer or phone that are connected to my home network no problem. The problem is when I leave my local network, I cannot connect. I get a 502 bad gateway error message, or simply a timed out connection. I purchased this product specifically to monitor the cook away from the house, so this is a big deal! The router recognizes the mac address, it has a static ip. I am fairly educated in routing and I do all my work and home networking myself, but I cannot figure out the problem. I did have to use a wifi signal expander to expand the signal outside, could that be the issue?

I have read some other posts on here about the cyber q wifi setup, but they did not address this issue....

When you say away from the house do you mean over the Internet?

If so, have you done any sort of port forwarding on your router so you can access the Cyber Q from the outside?

Yes when I am away from my home network (over the internet) I cannot connect. Port 80 has been forwarded. My local ip address pulls up the cyber q as long as the computer I'm on is connected to the same network, but outside of that nothing.

Just checking here. Are you entering your public IP address in your browser when you're not on the local network? I'm sure that you already know that you can't use the private address on the public Internet.

I would have to agree with the last post. Make sure you are using the external IP address. You can verify the external IP address by visiting this site http://www.whatismyip.com/

Turns out that suddenlink blocks port 80 to residential customers, so access to the cyber q outside of the home network is not possible. Awesome.

Call and complain, maybe they can help you. Also, make sure you are in infrastructure mode and did all necessary port forwarding. I had a bunch of trouble getting mine to connect to my router. Turned out the router needed to be restarted, the Cyber Q worked as described.
