I've heard of this happening and am aware of it but thought I'd post this since it is really something to be aware of.

I guess I'm confused (many will tell you I am in a constant state of confusion)!!! Here is what I found confusing "he thinks a steel bristle from his grill brush fell onto his steak" What the heck was he doing with the brush over the steak after it was on the grill???? I think I'll stick with my old brush cuz I ain't the sharpest tool in the shed but I know how and when a brush should be in use...besides I've had some new brushes over the years that shed worse than the old lady's freakin' cat!!!

Steak must have been really good that he did not even chew his food. I bought a new brush from RD, that the brushes are more like 1/8" wide works great.

The steel bristle would have come off when cleaning before cooking then placed the meat on top of it. That has happened to me before with a old brush but I did not eat it.

Hell I'll just start having my grates sandblasted.

Ya this showed in the MMWR (Morbidity Morbality Weekly Report - which comes from the CDC) within the last couple of weeks. See our government is helpful after all.

I always brush my grates before I grill and I check them when I am done, because I had a bristle show up uninvited once, many years ago..
