Finally got it! After a long road trip to Texas and back, including a 4hr flat tire snafu in Alabama, it's finally sitting in my yard.

Thanks guys! I've been researching pits for about a year now, and decided on a pit from Pits by JJ. They are great to work with, and are willing to customize your pit to suit your needs, as they did for me.
I started doing ribs indirect on my Meco Grill (which I still have, and use), stepping up to a Brinkman offset, which I modded with a flame deflector, heat baffles, and lowered stack intake. Handed the Brinkman down to my boys, who were actually pretty excited.

Very nice. We're lucky down here to have so many great pit builders in this area. I've been looking at Pits by JJ, Gatorpits, and Pitmaker for a while to add to my arsenal in the future. Can't go wrong with any of them as well as Klose or Pitts and Spitts.
