On the way home with a 30'' Chargriller. Saw it on Craigslist last night for $20 and grabbed it. If I can grab a used firebox (they retail new at $70), I'll make it into a reverse flow stick burner with a diffuser. Nice step up in size and hopefully functionality from the ECB. Thanks for looking.

Sounds like a great score, but for some reason I can't see the pic!

Nice!

A friend of mine said he was going to give me his since he never uses it. Do you have any links or anything on how to turn these into a reverse flow type cooker?

Great find! I happen to have a Char Griller firebox that has never been used, but needs a small welding repair.

I don't know how much it would cost to ship it, but if you want eat the feight charges, its yours.

Just let me know.

She has a bit of rust inside of her but for 20 bucks I couldnT pass it up. He wanted a case of beer but since I'm under 18 that wouldn't work legally.

Venemous, I watched a video where someone made a Chargriller into a propane reverse flow. I'll post te link when I get home. thanks!

If you can cook on an ECB, you'll be making good grub on that thing. In the meantime, there's no reason you can't start smoking with a two zone set-up.

In its current state it makes a decent indirect cooker. Pile unlit coals by intake vent, light with minion, place meat on opposite side by exhaust. Works great for anything you want to cook.

I did a few cooks on one of those last summer indirect, and it all turned out great.

two mods will make it better. plug all the unused holes and run a dryer vent pipe from the top vent intake to the cooking grate level. i turned out just fine food on mine. now that i use my kettles the most i turned my cg into a rotisserie machine.

Sorry to dig this up again but I was wondering whether i should get a firebox for this thing. i was interested into making her a stick burner but I hear the fireboxes on the COSs are very inefficient. Maybe instead of mounting a manufacturer's firebox off to the side, find/make a rectangular box (like a Lang shaped box, but cheaper :D ) and mount it underneath the smoker on one side to increase efficiency (heat rises). Thoughts?
