Was looking at the Royal Oak website to see about complaining about the 1.25 lb rock I found in my bag of RO lump, and ran across this rebate form. Thought I'd share it with my brethren.

I quit buying RO Lump for this very reason. I got tired of finding crap (other than lump charcoal) in the bag. I was expecting one day to open a bag and find a human bone in it. I'd found insulation, cardboard, and several unidentifiable objects that I knew weren't lump charcoal.

I too found a sizeable rock in my last bag....except i didn't catch it going in. But when i was cleaning out the firebox and separating the ash from the remaining lump pieces (yes i'm a bit OCD when it comes to my charcoal , nothing goes to waste) , there it was a big honkin' rock.

I've had no issues with rocks in RO but I only burn about 15-20 bags a year.

I think I remember hearing that some of their lump is made in the U.S. and some is not. This might have something to do with it.

I bought this bag at Restaurant Depot and the bag says made in the USA. I've had the stuff from Argentina and it is garbage. I've had small rocks about the diameter of a quarter in bags of RO before, but nothing of this size.

I've found concrete and a good sized piece of chert, someone at The Smoke Ring found what looked to be a melted cell phone.

Ok a buck and a half is the max rebate , way too much work for that little money.
