Believe it or not, the Ralph's Fresh Faire up the street on Ventura just a few blocks West of White Oak. They have some of the best beef I've ever seen from a chain, and just started regularly carrying USDA Prime. They also had amazing prime NY strips behind the meat case on sale for $12.99 a lb. :thumb:

Let me know if you're planning a visit!

Well that Ralph's kicks arse on the other Ralph's I've been to as far as the meat goes. I'll be staying down this way, but I have a beautiful flank steak to keep me company. :hungry:

I am actually surprised that Ralph's has pretty good meat.

Von's is the worst.

Albertson's is hit or miss sometimes good other times terrible.

I agree - Von's beef absolutely sucks - I wouldn't eat their "Rancher's Reserve" even if someone paid me. It's absolute sub select at best.

This particular Ralph's carries really fine beef - their ribeyes, NY strips, and especially Tri-Tips are awesome. Everything is either Choice or Prime and often at a good price. Their Tri-Tips are a lot better than Costco. Yet just a few miles away in a less affluent neighborhood, the closest Ralph's doesn't carry good beef at all. It has to do with demand/local demographics and what sells in a particular location.

They had several double packs of cowboy ribeyes at Ralphs in Silverlake where I regularly shop.
I agree about Ralphs having way better meat selection than Vons when it comes to beef.

Actually not - it would be disastrous on briquets - way too much ash. Gotta use straight lump for caveman style. No, I have something entirely different in mind here.

Stay tuned!

I think the Welocme tab has been that way since the beginning. The cryptic symbol changed a few weeks ago, then when someone noticed it, it abruptly changed again...many strange things seem to happen in this place! :icon_smile_tongue:
