I tried my hand at a reverse sear for the first time this past monday night. It has taken me a long time to try this but that is because it has been a long time since I grilled steak :tsk:. I would have liked to have some nice thick ribeyes but strips will do. I loved the results. Even though I overcooked it a little, it was like butter. Next time I will start the sear a bit earlier as I like mine less done. I served it with steamed broccoli, green beans and bacon, and onions and mushrooms simmered in a can of budwesier. Here are the pics.

I almost forgot, I hit these with some SM Season All and SM Peppered Cow. Man is this stuff good. I am still going through my 7-bottle sampler pack and I am hooked. Thanks Steph!

Thanks deguerre. You got that right. I am definitely a reverse sear convert.

Haha, I know. I keep trying to make excuses to cook steaks now. I just picked up some more from the butcher yesterday:icon_blush:. My wallet is not too happy:tsk:

You take a nice cut of steak like that, grill it up just right and then proceed to ruin it by slathering onions on it.

I don't think it ruined it. I could decide on which bites I wanted onions and mushrooms and they complimented the meat nicely. To each their own though.

I for one loves me some good carmalized onions and grilled mushrooms with steak.:thumb::thumb:

I see you went with the 4:2 rule. 4 veggies to 2 meats on the plate. Not used to seeing that, my plates are usually 2:4. I ain't the healthiest guy in the bunch though.

You're plate still looks fantastic!

Haha I have never heard of that. Don't worry though. Last night I went with the 1:0 rule of spare ribs and nothing else:biggrin1:
