Picking up a pork butt this afternoon, firing up the grill around 7 tomorrow morning. Having some friends over tomorrow, despite the forecast for severe storms. Storms aren't supposed to hit until late evening, so I'm hoping I can get that bad boy smoked in time to protect the grill from the elements. Also planning to try my first fatty; just read about it yesterday, and it sounds fantastic!

I'm sitting at work right now watching a brisket cook on my drum at home. Stoker web interface + TeamViewer = unproductive Friday. At least this makes me leave the dang lid closed and stop taking peeks! Probably going to fire up the egg tonight and do some burgers, a fatty, or maybe some beef ribs...

Whole spareribs tonight rubbed with with olive oil and a mixture of 1/2 TBS ground cinnamon plus 1/4 TBS ground ginger plus 1/8 TBS EACH ground cloves and ground nutmeg) , 1/2 TBS Kosher salt, and 1/4 Cup Brown sugar.
Tomorrow, my wife comes home from a 2 week trip, so I'll probability do skinless chicken breasts for sat. or sun.

Veggiewagon (the gf...) has a work picnic tomorrow so I'm doing 2 butts for pulled pork on the UDS starting late tonight. At least her coworkers are carnivores... :loco:

4 butts rubbed and injected. Going the the UDS later tonight. 2 chickens going on tomorrow late morning.

For Saturday: 1 Butt Injected and ready, 3 racks spares- trimmed and de-membraned, 30 sets of wings waiting treatment, We are only cooking the meat... All sides and beverages coming from others!!!

Bunch of drumsticks for the wifey and then, I plan to experiment with some veggie Q and see if I can come up with some stuff I can feed my vegitarian friend. I will try to not poison myself. If I start to feel wierd, I will pop a greasy drumstick in my mouth and wait for the side effects to pass.

This afternoon I fired up the NB offset with some splits of Pecan and Cherry. After it got up to temp (260*-300*) I put on a Tri-tip, a corn-on-the-cob, a Vidalia onion and a large tomato. For dessert I sliced up a couple of small Gala apples in a metal pan and sprinked them with cinnamon and sugar then covered with foil.
It was all very tasty.

I've got some spares on the go as we speak...I haven't barbecued for about a month, so I'm enjoying myself today. I cut the rack in half so that I can do some experimenting...Rubbed half of the rack with my own slight variation of Meathead's Memphis Dust (less sugar and a few more herbs and spices, basically), and the other half with a Spanish-style meat seasoning I found the other day - goes by the name 'Carmencita'. Also, I just made some coleslaw - cabbage, red onion, carrots, red and yellow peppers - and I'm marinating some wings in a mix of buffalo-style seasoning, mayonnaise, and apple cider vinegar. I shall attempt my first pron post when it's all done! Hope it turns out guuuuuuuud!

Just injected a butt with honey, mustard, salt, lee & perrins & chardonnay & bagged it with the injection and a load of garlic. Wonder how this will work. Will coat with sugar, rub & mustard in the AM.
