ok guys now that school is over finally i can concentrate on the important stuff. my mother picked up two 5 pound pork shoulders and what looks to me like only the point of a brisket thats also bout 5 pounds and told me she wants it cooked tomorrow. my rub has a bit of sugar in it and i was planning on keeping the temp at around 300 degrees.(will be cooking on CGK). if i want to serve dinner at about 6 p.m what time do you think i should start smoking all of this meat?

I would start it at around 8 a.m., that is meat on the cooker. At 300F, you should be done in 6 to 7 hours, leaving you two to three hours in a cooler. If things go long, you are still good with an extra couple of hours to play with.
