New Drum with rust???

Got a new drum for a build but it has rust on the inside. Whats the best way to get it out? Is the drum usable still? Thanks in advance!

The rust won't hurt anything. Just do the normal burn out, and maybe hit it with a pressure washer, or random orbit sander. Season it up and you are good to go. This is assuming the rust is merely surface rust, and not heavy exfoliation.

To me a little surface rust on the inside is a good thing. That tells me there is no liner to burn out.

Is hi the rust with a wire brush, build the uds, spray the inside with vegtable oil and heat it up.

Rust is good...if it's a little rust you can just season it.
If it's heavy rust I'd hit it with a wire brush and then season it but maybe the wirebrushing isn't needed though.

I agree with above. Do normal burn out and a good seasoning.
