I tried some local BBQ Sauce on some ribs and I really like it. I used some "Butch's Smack Your Lips" Sweet and Spicy

Butch beat Booby Flay in a BBQ Throwdown a year before he passed away. The family keeps his legend alive in competitions and continues to sell his BBQ Products. http://www.butchsbbq.com/

More than pleased with the sauce and I ordered a mixed case.

Nice looking ribs, whenever I see Pemberton, I can't help but think of Fort Dix.

I am not far from the relativly new "Joint Base Mcguire, Dix, and Lakehurst". McGuire was my last duty station, but I am from Western New York and used to make trips to Ontario almost every weekend and picnic along the way.

Thanks for the compliment..

I would like to know what the flavor profile was as well. I had heard that Butch added a lil bit of anchovy paste into his sauce.

We had the good fortune to meet Butch ( Mr. Lupinetti) a few years ago ay Napervilles ribfest.

We were hanging out with the sweet baby ray crew, and he was taking a break a few yards away

He chatted with us for 15-20 minutes, and posed for a photo with my wife

Sorry he passed, but happy that, when he did, he was on the trip through his Italian homeland he'd dreamed of!

The flavor profile is slightly sweet, very mild heat, but full of spice flavors which are very hard to pin point any single spice probably due to complimenting blends where one spice helps to bring out hidden flavors of another.

They are due to release a new "Apple" bbq sauce in the very near future.

I'm he might have formulated anchovy paste in his sauces, but I am not sure. I know he told me that anchovy powder is an ingredient in his magic dust. This helps to bring out the subtle flavors in other spices.

As a friend he taught me many unconventional things about bbq.
