I'm seriously considering getting this, is much cheaper than Cookshack or Smoking Tex. #1 and #2 models have very good reviews on Amazon.
Do any of you guys own one?
Thanks

I had a Smokin-It #1 a few years back when they first came out and ended up selling it on Craigslist a couple of months later. Temps were all over the place when compared to what my maverick was showing. Temp swings were usually plus/minus 75-100 degrees. On the plus side though, the guy that sells them was great to deal with and to be honest they are built pretty well. After selling it I just realized I wasn't a fan of electric smokers and never looked back. Anyway, I hope I was at least a little bit of help.

Never tried an electric smoker but there are a lot of them out there...

Just do your homework

I looked into those but douldn't find enough feedback to commit to a purchase. I did buy a Smokin Tex and have been happy with it for overnight cooks. I do believe Cookshack has better build quality and customer service but the price goes up!

I have a Smoke-It #2, LOVE it, got it when the #2 came out about two years ago and it has been true on tem and performance. Will be doing a butt this weekend and will put it on at about 9:00 Friday night and it should be ready by about 12-1 and into the icebox to hold till dinner.

If it was my only smoker, then I wouldn't get one as it appears the max temp is 250. However, as an additional toy (I do have an outside electrical outlet under shelter)...hmmmm
