Looks Great! I've made something similar before on the grill I THINK from a recipe I got on here. Core the middle of the onion out without going all the way thru, drop a cube of beef bullion in the hole and then pack with butter. Wrap in Aluminum Foil and put on grill with the side with the hole facing up for 45 minutes or so. I swear it tastes like french onion soup. I just open the aluminum and put the onion in a bowl.

I think they'd taste great on a burger topped with green chili's and a nice smoked cheddar!!!

Or with pretty much any thing else for that matter...even in a nice soup!!!

But yes, smoked onions like that are THE BOMB!!!

*in my bestest south Georgia accent*

You tryin' to start a fight boy? No self respectin' southerner would dare use Walla Wallas! We use Vidalia and only Vidalia onions round these parts.

Baked onions are great!
Next time quarter the onion, wrap them tight in foil with butter and a little worcestershire sauce. When done spread it over a ribeye. WOW!!!
