Smoked my first ribs yesterday. Bought two racks of St Louis ribs. I mixed up a rub that I found here, don't remember who's recipe it was. I was planning on doing the 2-2-1 approach. Foiled them after 2 hours and added apple juice. After 2 hrs of foiling I pulled them and they were done. Bones pulled right out clean. So the 2-2-1 turned out to be 2-2. They turned out pretty good for my first attempt.

Nice smoke ring. Now giver us some details! What kind of cooker, what was the temp, what kind of wood, etc?

Thanks guys! I'm still using my Weber kettle, don't have a dedicated smoker yet. I'm working on that though. As far as details goes, I was planning on cooking them at 225 using hickory chunks. I had a little trouble holding temp so I wound up chasing it between 230-250. I was worried about the smoke because there was no visible smoke coming out of the exhaust, but as you see in the pics it was smoking. So I learned a lesson there. Don't have to see the smoke to have it.
