I had time to burn and thought I would play with my food. I really didn't know if the potatoes would be edible. I figured if we at least got a few edible spuds out of it, It would be worth the experiment.
I had some locally made brats and I got 1.5 lbs of bacon to make bacon bits. my bacon bits stash in the freezer was getting low.
I sliced the first batch of spuds in half and put them on top of the bacon. I was suprised to see that they were done before the bacon. I scooped out the center and mixed it up with cheese and 2 slices of bacon. I filled the spuds back up and put it on the cool side of the grill to melt the cheese. I sliced up some chips and fries next. the original plan was to smoke and then fry them but they cooked so fast, I didn't need to fry them. I liked the chips more because the fries were not quite done. I will do fries again but start them out on the cool side of the grill.
The stuffed taters look a little dry because they sat out in the snow fall with me for 30+ minutes but they tasted great. I want to melt some cheese on the chips next time.
Hell, I don't think you can screw food up on these things once you learn how to use your UDS (lets see how long it takes for me to eat those words)
First I had to fix the hail damage to my lid. my neighbor does body work so I had him pull out his fancy hammers and bang out the dent out. he wanted to do it better but it looked good to me

3 coats of paint later and I was ready to smoke some spud
