Opened a fresh bag of K comp along with using some Kbb for bottom layer and the chimney on last weekends brisket cook. All went well and no issues.

Used rest of bag of K comp and opened another bag of Kbb for a chicken cook yesterday (rainy Wednesday?) and it was three hours before the last bird was done! Only difference was that yesterdays charcoal came out of my Performer bin. Cover was on but I can't help but think that charcoal absorbs moisture (humidity) more readily than I thought.

What I take from it is that while my stockpile in the shed is fine, from now on I'll try keep a bag or two inside the house for smokes. Guess I'll use the Performer bin for short-term storage in spans of nice dry weather and wood chunk storage.

Still, it's hard to wrap my head around how charcoal can burn so readily in a chimney and then slow down it's burn so much once in the smoker.
