I have been huge Weber guy for years.
Fell into a deal for an XL BGE, and I am LOVING it. Not sure is if its because I am using Lump now, or because of all the temperature controls, but it sure seems like more fun to cook with an egg. Kinda like driving a Cadillac versus a Taurus. Both will get you there, but it sure is more fun driving the Big Green Egg!!!!

The egg is certainly a fine machine.

I just bought a large BGE, so far it impresses me more every time I use it. Going to be hard not to buy a second one for the cabin or a smaller one to travel with.

Kinda silly, but I just noticed that the hole patterns are different on the top. Like a micro adjuster of sorts.

Too bad you weren't closer, I would take the WSM's off your hands...you don't need them anymore. And since they're just used Taurus', $50 for the pair would do nicely...

I too love mine and wish it was an XL.
I'm an equal opportunity BBQ kind of guy but I do love cooking on my XL.

I got my large BGE last month and so far I've made a pork butt, steak, chicken, and ribs. I'm giving ribs another go today when I get home from work and the gym. I'm still working temp. control, but compared to my cheap brinkmann I'm already a master. I'm really enjoying the efficiency as far and lump charcoal usage especially with the colder temperatures.

Congrats! I cook on my XL 2-3x a week. One of the best investments I've made.
Something I figured out after a while, is that when doing quick grills, I could just push the lump over to the side, and have a direct and indirect cooking side. The primo advertises that as a benefit of their oval shap, but the XL is large enough to just push the lump over and accomplish the same. Bonus is that in doing this I seemed to burn a lot less lump on those quick cooks.
Have fun!!!

girlfriend surprised me with a Large for my 30th bday last week, cooked on it twice, going on vaca tomorrow and coming home to a big box from the ceramic grill store, anticipation is killing me! Can't wait to throw some pizzas on, and finally do an overnight where i won't be up every 30 minutes
