I've been smoking for a couple years now. My first smoker was a charcoal smoker and served me well. I am currently building a UDS and cant wait to try it out.
With that said I recently acquired a brinkman stick burner. I tried it out the other day and I am now hooked. I'm not criticizing any other method of cooking. But for whatever weird reason, there was a sense of pride that came from cooking with only wood.

Congratulations on your new smoker! I have to say... my woodburner is my favorite too.

I went from electric to charcoal, from charcoal to wood. Although the stick burner is ALOT more work, I wouldn't have it any other way. :thumb:

Welcome to the wonderful world of sleep deprivation.

Yeah, stick burning is a lot of work. But that's how I learned and that's all I've ever done. However, I'm going to try charcoal on the brick pit that I'm working on because it's smaller. I can always throw some wood in there with the charcoal.

I finally just got my first stick burner last weekend, and am already loving it.
