What kind of cooking fuel you prefer - charcoal briquettes, lump, splits, lpg/butane or logs?

My daddy raised me on splits but I've moved over to lump as a convenience factor. I'm a below-the-knee amputee and grabbing a bag of lump is easier for me than trying to grab a bunch of splits and get em into my cooker.

Mind you I ain't passing judgment; to each their own.

Lump for grilling and shorter smokes.

Bricks for longer smokes.

I use lump also. It seems to work the best for me.

I use Kingsford Blue charcoal in my grill and smokers. The upcoming Big Green Egg will have to use lump.

You didn't say what kind of a cooker you're using. I use Kingsford blue for quick hot cooking. I use lump and add wood chunks for longer cooks as I feel it brings a better flavor. I also buy when something is on sale and that effects what I am cooking with sometimes.

I use kingsford blue in my uds and my charcoal grill, I use charcoal and splits or small logs in my offset, and burn logs down to coals for my open pit.

I'm still struggling with my Sig field to show that I cook in a 55 gallon drum, horizontal type. It's what my Daddy raised me on and I see no need to change after 58 years of making Que.

When I finally figure out how to make that Sig feature work, I guess I'll have the shortest equipment list in the forum.

Logs? Not sure how u can use those. Splits here......I'm a wood-fired pit guy. I love stoking the fire, and the Lang, well, she sure looks sweet parked in front of 8 stacks of hickory, red oak, cherry, and pecan!!!
