Just catching up on some posts here...

Did 2 separate boils the other day... A shrimp and a mini crawfish boil. Nothing special. Kinda looked like this. :becky:

And I got some great looking shrimp from my shrimp lady One of them was HUGE! Had them with a seasoned butter dipping sauce:

Look at the size of that sucker!

You probably would have had more shrimp if that monster sized one hadn't eaten so many of the others. Nice looking cook Phrasty.

The lady I get my shrimp from purges them over night so I get them fairly clean. If you want to clean & devein them here a vid to show how to do that:

Looks great!

Last time i boiled shrimp in my crawfish boil, they were terrible, the shells stuck to the meat and were extremely hard to peel. A friend who is a caterer said the extra salt in the crawfish boil did it.

I'm glad your turned out so well!!

I do it all the time and I've never had a problem with that... Give it another go! Could just be the batch of shrimp you got.

It's so long since I've done a boil like that. I usually do it outside when the weather is a bit warmer and corn is in season. Nothing stopping folks from getting frozen ears and doing it in the house, though, no matter what the weather is. Looks great! :thumb:

Add a capful of distilled white vinegar per gallon of water in your boil to make any shellfish easier to peel.

Did mine inside since it was just for the wife and I for dinner... But we usually do em outside as well! Always a hit! :thumb:

I did not know that. I'll be keeping that in mind. :thumb: Thanks.

As a child I learned to eat Craw Fish the Louisiana way.
( 'Pincha Da Tail, and Sucka Da head'.)

His Pron looks great. Love the huge shrimp.
When I do a Low country boil, I also add smoked sausages cut into chunks.
I boil mine with a whole bottle of Zatarans in the water.
Smells strong,taste great.
