View Full Version : Cherry smoked turkey breast

Been trying to use the new Ole Hickory whenever possible in an effort to learn it

I did a couple turkey breasts Sunday and though I might share.

I boned out a couple 8#ers and then stitched them up to hold shape and keep juices in.

One was injected with Sweet Smokin' Swine Brine and rubbed inside and out with Okie Dust rub.

the other was injected with Cajun Injector Creole Butter injection marinade and rubbed with Rooster Booster poultry rub.

Sorry, I got in a hurry and forgot to comment on the result.

I think the look was super (I'll let you decide)

The juiciness, texture and flavor was the best turkey I ever had.

I cooked them to abou t150° and then rested to finish. I imagine htey heit right around 165°

How are you liking the Ole Hickory cooker?

Those look delicious. My girl has been bugging me about doing some breasts of turkey. I've done plenty of whole birds but never just breasts.

Those look delicious. My girl has been bugging me about doing some breasts of turkey. I've done plenty of whole birds but never just breasts.

I believe that the inject was the real key to these.
