I'm a new user and this is my first post. I have a collection of cookers :
25 yr old Oklahoma Joe offset
22' weber kettle
weber gasser
Holland grill

I have a chance to buy a 36" Kingfisher Kooker Kombo which is an off set smoker with a water shelf in it. Does anyone have any experience with one of these cookers?
They cost $700. new and I can buy this one for $75.
I'm planning on doing some bbq comps. this year here in Texas and i'm looking for something lighter to haul around than my Oklahoma joe.

Newbie.

I would buy it and see if it fits your needs. If not sell for $150.

Is it this one?

I owned one and used it for comps. I found it too heavy for me as I had no help loading and unloading at home. I found the grate in the firebox to be low and ash would need to be removed frequently to keep the fire burning. I had a charcoal box made so the charcoal and wood chunks would burn in an "s" pattern and get a longer burn. I also added a Stoker system to it.
For that price, it is a great deal.

I own there 36" charcoal grill that can be converted to a sideburner. I love it. Very high quality and fantastic customer support. I have the 17"x36" and yes heavy metal material. Will last forever.
