Waterfowl season officially came to an end last weekend... so now, it's all smoke all the time. I'll tell you what, having a smokin bro makes it whole lot more fun too, so join me as I take you on an epical ride of tasty proportions.
Earlier in the week, I decided to make some man muffins and experiment with the instagram app.

Then I decided to do this, which I soaked in a marinade/brine thinger...

Igotgas did this...

and it turned out lookin like this... and it tasted great!

Saturday, me and Igotgas headed over to our buddy's house to help him with this...

Igotgas brought this...

We both brought these for that thing above...

They turned out looking like this...

http://i1256.photobucket.com/albums/ii497/HirschHunter1/photo5.jpg
and the security cameras were almost set up when we took this...

Sunday... I woke up and said, wife, prepare to be amazed and I made this... (Buckboard bacon, fried eggs, and pumpkin spice waffles)
http://i1256.photobucket.com/albums/ii497/HirschHunter1/Breakfast.jpg
http://i1256.photobucket.com/albums/ii497/HirschHunter1/Breakfast_2.jpg
and I also decided to do something with this...
http://i1256.photobucket.com/albums/ii497/HirschHunter1/Brisket_Naked.jpg
http://i1256.photobucket.com/albums/ii497/HirschHunter1/DryRub.jpg
http://i1256.photobucket.com/albums/ii497/HirschHunter1/Rub.jpg
http://i1256.photobucket.com/albums/ii497/HirschHunter1/Brisket_Rub.jpg
Which I cooked on this, for the first time... (first time on an electric, Lowe's blew these things out for a $100, couldn't pass on that)
http://i1256.photobucket.com/albums/ii497/HirschHunter1/Smoker.jpg
Anyway, 8 hours in, it looked like this, so I foiled it...
http://i1256.photobucket.com/albums/ii497/HirschHunter1/Brisket_Crutch.jpg
after two more hours it looked like this and I could slice it with a butterknife.
http://i1256.photobucket.com/albums/ii497/HirschHunter1/Brisket.jpg
http://i1256.photobucket.com/albums/ii497/HirschHunter1/Brisket_2.jpg
While we were eating that, this was in the smoker... and I think I liked Igotgas's better...
http://i1256.photobucket.com/albums/ii497/HirschHunter1/Salmon_Smoker.jpg
Great times... that was my first brisket ever...just never wanted to deal with the amount of time it takes to cook one of those things... the electric smoker made it easy, though my heart still truly lies with my weber's... Still need to figure out how to make better smoked salmon. Trying to replicate what I've tasted and enjoyed before... guys who have their salmon dialed in with a brine, seem to be tight lipped about sharing. Oh well... I'll get there someday.
Thanks for looking!
