My wife and I went to a couple of estate sales Saturday.
Thru a patio door on the back patio of a place on Logan Martin Lake
I saw what I thought might be a Weber under a cover....
The patio door was locked.
I walked around the house and found a Blue 22 1/2" One Touch Gold
was under the cover. I opened it and it was nearly new. It also had a new spatula, tongs, and fork on the top rack. There was a price of $40 on a piece of masking tape on the cover.
I quickly covered it and carried it around the house to pay for it.

When I got it home I found a little BBQ sauce crud baked on the top rack.
It has been used, but barely used. The top hasn't been used.
Sunday I made a run to Lowes for a new top grate.

I didn't need it, but now it's gonna be used for burgers. :-D

* I expect that somewhere there is a good stick burner in someone's barn that one day will go that same route. :loco:

I can only pray that I get to walk in your shoes one day. It seems that the garage/estate sales are the way to go. Because if it's just the weber on CL, usually the person knows what they have. But if it's just a garage sale - you can find these scores. Great job! Good on ya

haha way to sniff out that grill! only a fellow brethren would have such a keen sense that a weber is hidden somewhere and be able to pick up a sent on it

Ya can tell I didn't know crap about the different Weber Models.
I thought it was a one touch gold.

I just went out and checked. It's an 'EO' series. (1995)
Only 17 years old.
If it was much older I'd hang an antique tag on it and only drive it on Sundays...

Its in fantastic shape for a 17 year old grill. Must have been kept out of the elements.

Awesome score! Someone smarter than me will chime in soon, but I think back then they were called Mastertouch, instead of OTG. I have a red Mastertouch 1998.

Yep... She thinks that's her grill.
I haven't moved it to the patio yet. I've got to move some things around first.

Since we've been going to estate sales every weekend, I've found several Weber's, but the others were in rough shape.
One rusted out drum smoker, and a Lang 36 with a 'SOLD' tag.
I don't know what it sold for, but it was SOLD before 11 AM when we got to the sale. ( Weaver,Al. )
Tip: The Estate sales out in the country have the best sales and that's where I've found most of the smokers & grills.

Barbara and I are still going to Destin this weekend, so I'll prowl the back roads down there.

The best find I couldn't afford was in Sevierville,Tn. up on 441.
I found two big smokers mounted on one trailer. Good Shape. $2500
A mesh wood box on the back and a solid box on the front.
Someone had stolen the wheels off the trailer, and we were on our way home, so I passed on it...
It was gone a couple of weeks later when we got back up there...
MY FAULT for not buying some wheels and towing it home.
