When I built my first UDS and was searching lid ideas I came across these recomendations for Arctic Stainless Steel lids people where using. The website everyone had linked was gone (and still is). I have been entertaining the idea of building a SS UDS and started researching options again. I found Arctic Stainless Steel Kettle (http://www.amazon.com/Arctic%C2%AE-Stainless-Steel-Kettle-Bar-B-Que/dp/B006YV5SPG) It looks to me to be the same lid. I was wondering if anyone had a good source for these or other recommendations. Also how did the lids stand up over time? One review I read said that the kettle rusted in a few months which shocked me.

So I"m looking for advice and sources for SS Lids and drums if anyone has any :)

Here is the old post I was referencing:

Nice build, now all you need is a SS domed lid. Go to: www.arcticproducts.com (http://www.arcticproducts.com/) and get ya one. I have one and so do a few other brethern. So I don't hi-jack your thread and shamelessly show off my SS UDS just look up my forum name and do a search(Paul B).

If I had a SS coal bucket mine would be all SS. My neighbor never came through with the expanded SS :cry:.

Again, great build, now go and enjoy...............

I've got half dozen of the domed lids from Arctic. Found a guy with a couple of pallets of them in his warehouse. The SS is pretty thin tho and will ding up fast if not handled carefully. So I hinged the one I made for my stepson. and it really helps to keep it from getting roughed up. THe one your link shows is the same as I have. Your gonna wanna toss most of what's in the box but the screws are useful and with just a little work the bottom will make just about as good of a lid as the top does and the grates are pretty nice. The hinges ended up rock solid.

Here's the thread....pics are in the OP.
