Well I have been looking for a stick burner for a while and finally ran across one that I could afford. It needs a small bit of work to be perfect but it looks pretty good to me, I can fiddle with it and make it better. So now for the part that everyone wants to see..... The Pron....

I know she will be a good project I don't have a name for her yet but I am sure something will come to me for a name.

I couldn't pass up the deal I got on it, I only had to give $500 for the whole rig so it was well worth the money so I have been told. BBS I am going to have to build some type of tuning plates or a heat deflector to even out the hot spots. I need to do some work on the doors to get them to seal up better, and thinking about a small door or a drain on one end for clean outs. A wood basket on the front. If yall see anything else that you think might make it better be sure to let me know and I can see if I can do it.

Yes I went ahead and pulled the trigger, I figured this was the best deal I was going to find and it gives me a starting point to learn all about using stick burners and working on the pit to fix and refine my lowly skills as a cook. I hope to make some good Q on her once my learning curve is over, I know these are a lot different than my UDS or anything else I have used lately, now just to find a supply of wood for her...

Good deal I think you going to like loading it from the back. Wish I had it in my shop for a few week we could snazzy it up for you . You might want to cut a hole in the other door for a another therometer, also may or may not a deflector plate over the heat opening to even out the heat, a set of fender just for looks Tractor Supply or Northern Tool have them. Also an expanded floor and rails around it for hauling stuff, but you will have time to do all this stuff , but as of now start cooking

Congrats that's a great price. It looks you have plenty of room add things to front of the trailer down the line such as woodbox or prep table etc..

If you are going to be driving that smoker down the road, I would invest in trailer (stop/turn) lights and a license tag. Up by you, you might get away with just that reflective stripe on the backside. I would be lucky to make it a few miles in this part of the state without a traffic citation for no lights, no tag, no fenders etc. The first ticket would more than pay for these items. I use the led trailer lights from Harbor freight and really like how durable and bright that they are. Here is the link. http://www.harborfreight.com/led-trailer-light-kit-95974.html

I hope that it is fun to smoke on. I would have to get a fire in her today just to see some smoke rising out of the stacks.

I plan on adding fenders and lights on it and will have to check about a tag not sure if you need a tag in FL for a cooker but I will be sure to check and get one if I need it. I will also be adding the wood box on the front and definitely some sort of heat deflector to even out the heat flow. I got a fire in her now just for practice and to get her up to temps to do a thorough cleaning of the insides.

Hey that is an awesome looking contraption! It just screams "MOD ME!!!!!!" You're really gonna have fun with it because there is so much room for additions and tweaking till you get it just like you want it. I look forward to seeing what she finishes out to be...:-D

Outstanding looking rig.

Here in Michigan per the DMV if I haul my Klose Mobile Pit down the road empty I am fine. If I haul a cooler, lawn chair or even a stick of wood it is considered a trailer and needs a license plate.
Might be worth a phone call.

Well I am getting her dirty, after getting her all cleaned up said why waste a good fire, so I threw on a 9lb brisket and let it cook away. It was running great until the rainstorm hit and drowned me and the pit out so I am having to finish it in the oven, hopefully it turns out eatable.

How thick is the metal, the off set that I have it keeps heat up good in rain

its a 250 gallon lp tank and it keeps temps great but the doors are not quite perfectly sealed even the firebox (which is a top loader) and we had a heck of a downpour for over 2 hours and since I just got it yesterday I have not had the chance to make a shelter to cook under so it was out in the open and the cook chamber and the firebox got lots of water in them...and that put out my fire but before that I had her dialed in to 250 and she was humming along for 3 hours. So fixing a place to cook under and sealing the doors is my first priority.
