After using my hand me down smoker last from my son-inlaw I decided it was time to upgrade. Nothing elaborate but something that suites my needs, better temp and smoking control. Now if only the weather will this Sunday I plan on smoking some baby backs. Going to try a Boubon Pineapple recipie I found online.

Will there be pron? :hungry:

Sorry guys it is only a small electric Masterbuilt smoker with a digital control , nothing like the rigs you guys use. I am really new to smoking meats I have only been doing it since last spring so I don't even know what a Pron is. Now talk Bowhunting and Woodworking and I am in my Zone

Pron would be photo's of equipment and smoked food (called pron because -p*o*r*n- sets off work filters that block websites.)
Nothing wrong with electric as long as your practicing good BBQ mojo and showing us pictures of what you are smoking!

Congrats on the new smoker! Doesn't matter if it is big or small; it is all about low & slow. :thumb: Heck I don't have a rig like some of the people on here and they haven't beat me up too bad for it. :becky: Enjoy it and share some photos if time allows. We just love to look at good food.

We're all good guys here Bob!
The cr@p only hits the fan every few months or so when someone puts beans in somone elses Chili that's not supposed to have beans in it... Then we all have a big bunfight and call each other names and then after that we all feel emabrrased and go for reacharounds and grouphugs...
As long as youre smoking ANYTHING... we're intersted! Go for it!
Cheers!

Been away from the Brethren for a few weeks and it makes me insanely happy to come back and read this thread. That's why this place is great.
Robert, I think once you get your rig dialed in you'll get even more satisfaction knowing you can spit out some great Q without breaking the bank.

I have a new New Braunfels (Academy) model that beats me up every time I use it. I have a couple of old grills (charcoal), I have (2) old off brand bullets (never use-too small), also a Brinkman gasser, and now I have a newly built UDS and I intend to build a concrete pit this spring and summer. I am also in the process of trying to save for the Klose 24"x 60" BYC in my signature..
We may not all have big fancy rigs but we all have the love of cooking Q' in common.
I know one thing, no matter what your cooking style is Texas, North Carolina, Georgia, St. Louis, Memphis even Dutch or Aussie. If it's Q', im intrested in it!
So cook on your new smoker, make your upgrades and improvements, enjoy some great family time. post us some Pr0n of it all so we can enjoy your success and console you on your failures (we all have them) and welcome to the Bretheren!

Oh have had some failures. I tried a beef brisket last year and I way over cooked it. Sold it to Redwing to make a boot out it. But The one thing that I did get from this place is I downloaded the list of 1800 recipies. For someone new to it like me it has a ton of good recipies. t I have used already them to make lots of good rubs and sauces.
