Any recommendations on wireless/remote thermometers. Have seen the maverick advertised and a few others. Any preferences?

I have a couple of Maverick ET-732s. They work great and I have not had any issues with them.

If you want to monitor both the smoker and the meat in one affordable unit, the Maverick ET-732 is the way to go.

Get the maverick, mine works great. You'll always find some negative reviews if you look hard enough. It a great unit for the money IMO

I had a couple of E-732's but I couldn't get a consistant reading with any of the probes I used, some just out of the bubble wrap. I would either see "HHH" or some wacked out temperature when it should have been 71. I just couldn't trust it, so they wound up in the trash. Now I'm in the market for some new remotes....

732 is newer version of 73. Supposed to fix some of the 73's shortcomings and improve range of signal reception.

If you have an newer iPhone, take a look at the iGrill. I am a Maverick fan, but the associated iPhone app for the iGrill makes it great way to graph your watch and graph your temps on your phone.

Thanks for the tip Rod. :thumb: Do you use one?

Yes, I use an iGrill and I love the thing, especially the graph feature while I'm sleeping between putting a log on the Jambo. Recently, I used a borrowed pit to cook a catering and didn't want to have to check on it all night long, even though it was a pellet pit. So, in the morning I could see exactly how that pit performed all night long. It's really a great remote thermometer for us Apple fanboys.

I'll have to check and see if they have that system for the droids. Sounds like it could be pretty cool.

I read yesterday that the droid model is coming soon. Kinda pricey. Is a touch screen the same as a real finger?
