Really no way to mess this up. I can't say there is any best recipe cause the best is gonna be to stuff it with your favorite stuff. Roll the Jimmy Dean out in a gallon zip lock , cut the bag open, lay your bacon weave out on some plastic wrap (helps with rolling), lay the sausage out on top of the weave, stuff it with your favorite items, and roll and throw on the grill.

Also use the search feature at the bottom of the page to look up fatty to see the different combinations people use, and you can look up bacon weave for detailed instructions on that.

Good luck- you'll be hooked. And it's been said "you never forget your first".
I'm on the train right now but when I get in the office I'll try to locate a great thread for you.

In it's simplest form:

Buy 1# chub of sausage.
Remove plastic wrapper. :-D
Coat with seasoning if desired. Almost anything will work.
Put in heat from 200 to 350 deg till internal temp is 160 ish.
Enjoy.

Here is my recipe...

Buy a breakfast sausage log
Start up the grill or smoker
Unwrap the sausage log
Roll in it rub (this step is optional)
Put it in the grill or smoker
Cook to 165 internal
Slice and enjoy
Wish you had made more.

Simple is sometimes better. Master the naked fatty and then you can move on to stuffing an enrobing in cured meats.
