Pondering what rub to use on the 12# brisket this weekend. My choices are Head Country, JT's Brisket Rub, Angelos, or Gordon's Grub Rub. I've been using Head Country quite a bit and am therefore leaning towards Angelos or Gordons only because I think I'd prefer to save JT's for another time. I used Gordon's on a tri-tip last week and it was farking outstanding. Haven't used Angelos yet. So what do you think?

Throw a tablespoon of each rub that you have in a bowl. Mix it all up, slap it on, and see how you like it.

No sheet Trout

Use the Grub Rub TK, but not on the fat cap.

IMO, rubbing down the fat cap is a waist of time and rub (especially fat cap downer's like me)

I really prefer the Grub Rub on pork and chicken, but it ain't bad on beef. If the Angelo's you had is the same stuff they use at Angelo's in Ft. Worth give it a shot. It's some mighty fine eating, and if you ever make it to that restaurant make sure you don't guzzle the beer....it's literally ice cold and will give you brain-freeze just like ice cream.

Has anyone tried Wizard BBQ Kickin' Beef Rub? I used that on a brisket a few weeks back, and it was great. For yesterday's brisket, I just used Montreal Steak Seasoning (actually, it was Canadian Steak Seasoning, a knock off from Sams's Club. It had a nice kick and won rave reviews...

I did that on my last one also. I liked it. some brown sugar, garlic onion, pepper and montreal steak seasoning.
