After looking all summer for a cheap Weber Kettle so I could have a dedicated dome lid for my UDS I finally SCORED. It's not a Weber Kettle but it works fine.

It was at HD and was being sold as damaged because of some minor lid damage for $50 and I was able to talk the manager down to $40. I can use the lid on the UDS, the stand will be mounted under the UDS so I can wheel it around. I will have to design a decent handle for it to replace the broken one. The Cast Iron grate that was in the unit fits my Weber :becky: and is set up for doing reverse sears I think. It also came with a Pizza stone:becky:.

In order to mount it I had to cut the lip off of the base and screw it to the drum. I used a 3/8" stove gasket behind the ring to help seal up the lip since my drum is not perfectly round. I test ran it today and had only minor smoke leakage from around the lip.

Yeah, I looked at those. They are a great value and appear to be really well made.

Great score. That is one nice heavy lid.
