No more fighting over the drumsticks and no more dry turkey breast. From now on we're doing legs only. These turned out awesome.

Rubbed down with Yardbird.

On to the WSM with a little pecan for flavor.

I almost forgot to get a pic of the finished product. They didn't last long.

Thanks for looking.

Something I just though was interesting to share. I was watching a cooking show and they cut the drum off with the thigh, de boned the thigh and stuffed it.

The part I liked was when the end of the drum stick was cut off and after it was cooked they took a pair of needle nose pliers and pulled out the ligaments which came out really easy but left the drum leg bone in. I love smoked legs but always hated those darn tendon bones.

I started checking the internal temps at 1 hour. If I remember correctly, they were at 160 so I checked again 30 minutes later. Some were in the high 160's, some in the 170's so I went another 20 minutes. That put it right at 1 hour and 50 minutes. They were all in the 180's by then. I know 170 is all the further you need to go but Mama won't touch any meat that isn't well done. It didn't matter anyways, they were juicy and tender. I think we'll be doing them again soon.

Great way to do it, dark meat of turkey is my favorite. Those look tasty!
