View Full Version : 3 birds 1 ham, two smokers, question?

Two 20# turkeys on the Pro Q and a 16# turkey and a 14# ham on the WSM. I'm planning on getting up at 4 am and starting the chimney, then start prepping all the turkeys and then the ham. Hope to get the birds on by 5 am for an eat time around 1 pm. The ham is pre-cooked so I don't think it will be an issue. Am I crazy or should this be enough time? I'm thinking of cooking at around 275 to 300 degrees.

Even at that semi low temp for 20lb birds that seems like a while. I don't go much past a 16lb turkey because it seems they become more dry at that size.

That's an interesting observation and one I haven't thought much about. I need to research that one. Can't argue with the Mrs. though cuz she bought our 20 pounder. The other two are for friends. I just want to allow a little time cushion to be on the safe side.
