Last night i made my first tri tip chili using big ron's chili mix. It cam out excellent !. First i cooked a two pound tri tip (seasoned) on my weber bbq with some mesquite and hickory wood chips until it was medium. Next i followed the directions on big ron's chili package , but i added 2 cans of kidney beans and 1 can of diced chiles (mild).

I cut up the tri tip into small cubes and added it to the mix, let it simmer for 2 1/2 to 3 hours and it was done.

Served it with shredded cheese , sour cream , raw red onions and garlic bread. It was awesome, i can't wait for dinner tonight which will be the leftovers from last night.

I have a work Chilli contest coming up in a few weeks. I am making some of the same. I smoked the meat Saturday and froze it. I have the Big Rons mix on hand. I'm ready. Glad to hear yours turned out well. This year it's on! I have never even placed before.
