For you outdoor cooks, how about some Hobo Stoves?

We're going to do some for Cub Scouts next month. Been saving my #10 cans.

once I was 20 miles into the woods with the boy scouts. we were cleaning up camp and I had a pork chop left. we just put out the fire but there was a hot rock in the fire ring. I steralized it with water and cooked the chop on the rock. it was one of the best pork chops I ever had. :clap2:

Very interesting concept. I am amazed that that first kit is under 2lbs.

I like it, same principal as the rocket stove.

Those are really fun. When my wife and I hiked the appalachian trail a couple years ago, we saw several people using that type of stove. The idea was, fuel was always available. We had our little alcohol stove. Ran on denatured, and was made from a coke can.

For Scouts, we're just going to use #10 cans and a sterno for fuel. Going to grill burgers on top of the cans. My 7-8 year olds are giong to love it.
