but if there is football on the TV, there needs to be meat in the cooker.

here's some pics of what i cooked yesterday.

i bought some halaal chicken, cuz i hadn't tried it before. i thought it was pretty good.

rubbed it up with oakridge secret weapon and covered it in parkay. i cooked it @ 275 for an hour uncovered with apple and hickory and another hour covered. poured some sauce on it(which didn't work for me, ended up too saucy)and ate.

but, i needed more than that to eat so i rubbed some ribs and let them sit to soak for a little bit. then into the cooker @ 275.

I've never seen chicken smothered, like that, in margarine before. The ribs look good.

it's a comp thing, i think. a process used in order to help render the skin soft and bite through.

i had tried it before, but didn't think it added much. i still feel this way. YMMV.

i wouldn't say much of a difference than say perdue "all natural", but nothing was wrong about it either, which i consider a win.

The only "special" thing about halal chicken should be in the way it was killed. The chicken is the same.

That looks amazing. That has to be the most glossy looking chicken Q i have seen. Oh and those ribs would go down in seconds, swiftly folowed by a home brew or two. :thumb:

Thanks for sharing.
