Does anyone here cook cornbread on their grill in a cast iron skillet? If so does it have too much of a smokey/charcoal flavor? I bought a new dutch oven to try out but I also wanna try it with a cast iron skillet on the grill...

I would try it with lump and no added wood chunks. Suppose you could use the lid some of the time too keep down the smoke taste.

Not costly to try it a few ways and see what you like best.

I've done it without added wood and found it to be very good. Somewhat of a light smoky flavor. Have the fire hot and burning clean and I think you'll like it.

I do it all the time. Lump no wood chunks. Great flavor.
