Curious what others pay, especially Gulfer who pay less for transport

Ace Hardware gives you a card punch for 6th one free too

What you all pay?

About $12, but I rarely run them dry. Hate to screw around with changing tanks in the middle of a cook.

Bill,

Are you sure they are 40#? Standard sizes are 8#, 20# (grill size) and 30# (RV size) then 100#. There may be others out there that I have not heard of. But I pay $8.98 for the 20# no exchange and $12.50 for the 30# no exchange. I have a bulk tank up on the farm that I pay $1.65 gal if I but 200 gal or more.

$14 each with a punch card - free refill after 7.

I keep three 20# tanks - two for the RV and one for the grill/turkey fryer, etc. Right now none are on the trailer!! :D I'll probably buy another tank soon since I have the gas burner on the big cooker, too.

I usually fill 2 or all three at a time!

Here in Tx, oil and gas are so abundant, we just stick a pipe in the ground and hook our grill/smoker up to that.

:D $9

The guy set the weight at 40, so does the empty tank weigh 20#?

I pay $12 too for 20 lb at the local farmer's co-op. Here's a link to a site that specs the various sizes:
http://www.worthingtoncylinders.com/steel.html

Energy Density of Propane: 84,500 BTU/gallon
Mass per gallon of liquid at 60 F 5.1 lbs

So you get about 3.92 gallons of propane in a 20# cylinder and that equates to
331,372.55 Btu's
