Did you guys put a coat or 2 of High-Temp Primer on your UDS before the High Paint, or did you just go straight to High-Temp paint?

I did prime mine but not with high temp paint. I just use regular rustoleum and it holds up well on mine. I don't cook above 350 degrees.

I'm confused, did you use Hi-Temp paint and regular primer, or regular paint and regular primer? Has anyone else used regular Rustoleum paint and not high-temp? That would help with my color choices!

I just used regular primer and regular paint. I just don't find it necessary to use high temp paint on a UDS unless you cook at 400 and above.

I used engine block paint as well. But I crank my drum sometimes to cook pizza, so I'm afraid regular would just peel off.

I use rustoleum or any left over automotive paint. We run high heat to do pizzas and haven't had any problems but we do keep our baskets around 14"diameter
